VISION  (Bethel AME Church, owners

Hobbs Farm is a historic farm that seeks to maintain a spiritual, physical, and academic connection with Christ by using its agrarian setting to serve the local community.

Our Mission

(Friends of Hobbs Farm, managers)

To achieve this vision, the Friends of Hobbs Farm works to:

1)   Provide fresh, wholesome, local produce to the needy through a network of local food pantries and food programs.

2)   Maintain a remnant of agrarian legacy of the area by preserving both the last farm in the Middle Country community and African-American family farm on Long Island.

3)   Raise public awareness about hunger and food production through both formal and informal educational programs targeting the local youth and adult residents.

4)   Help foster a sense of community pride by hosting public events in partnership with civic and educational organizations in the area.

5)   Provide opportunities for spiritual growth through the farm’s accessibility to local churches and similar groups.
